It's a start
Since this is what I hope to be the beginning of a blog about how were are settling into our new life on the west coast, I guess the first thing to do, would be to show you where we are actually living in SF. As the amazingly creative title suggests, (hee hee) we have made our home in the Mission. Usually known as the sunniest part of the city and also one of the richest in history and "character". Character in neighborhood and the fun people populating the streets.
We absolutely love it. We're having a wonderful time eating our way through the neighborhood and hoping people remember us in our local café. (we do brunch at least once a week there. I think the idea is to one day sit down and have the question be "the usual?")
One of our favorite features, is our working fireplace. nothing goes better with TV watching than a roaring duraflame log. We tried the crackle ones for a more "real" experience, but they don't burn as nicely as the normal ones.
Here's where I start to jump around topics. As you know, Lori loves books. (she also loves playing Rockband, but I think she would rather keep that secret. Oops.) In Durham, we had books coming out of every corner of our place, but with no sure order. Dewey Decimal would have had a heart attack had he been a real person and not just a way to classify books. As you can see from the picture, Lori has nipped this in the bud. Those stacks, they have meaning. Now, you can find Shakespeare in the living room and paperback novels in the bedroom. If you want short stories, check the bathroom shelves. Textbooks. I believe they live in the dining room. absolutely surrounded by books. Just so you know, neither of us actually read. we just do it so when people come over, they tink we're smart.
Anyway, I need wrap this up. There will be time for more blogging later. I don't want to do it all in one post. I gotta save something interesting for later. :)
In the mean time, if you're interested in seeing the rest of our digs, go ahead and check out more pictures of our place:

I'm hoping we'll be able to keep up with this. We miss you all. Thanks for coming to visit. please come again
